View Along Turnagain Arm

11"x 14" Oil on canvas, SOLD     This scene is on the way to Anchorage driving north on the Seward Highway past Portage.  Those of you who have been here will know this area.  The water way is called Turnagain Arm and this drive is one of the most scenic drives anywhere.   It takes a little over two hours for us to drive to Anchorage from Seward and when we make this drive I am always looking for painting ideas.  Rain or shine it is lovely.  This painting was finished last week.  I started it several weeks ago but put the final touches on it last week.

6"x 10" Oil on wood panel.  Available      Here is a new painting I painted early last week.  This is a view on Fourth Avenues as you approach historic downtown Seward.  The United Methodist church is seen in the distance.

11" x 14"  Oil on Canvas.  Available.        Resurrection Bay is a popular sailing area with good winds and dramatic scenery.  This is a new painting just recently completed.  Most sailing activity takes place during the summer months because of our harsh winters.  The reference photo for this painting was taken in May of last year.

10"x 20" Oil on wood.     This painting is of  Resurrect Art Coffee house with Mt. Marathon in the background.  This coffee house and art gallery is a very popular place to come for locals as well as visitors.  Each summer I have a show here on one of the First Friday art openings.   Although the original painting is sold,  prints will be available for sale very soon.

8"x8"  Oil on canvas board Available.  I'm in the town of Soldotna.  My husband had a meeting to attend.  On the way here we saw six moose along the highway including one we had to stop for because it chose to slowly cross the road just as we were approaching.  I'm so glad we saw it in time.    I'll keep posting flowers up till Valentine's Day!
