Oh my, I have been away from my Blog for so long... I am finally breaking the silence!   All I can say is I have had a very busy past 3 months and I eager to get back to painting!!  This painting is of a day just like today, rainy and misty but great kayaking in Humpy Cove where our cabins are!  Yes we are up and running again with another wonderful summer coming our way.   Now push that comment button and say hello!!

This painting is of a honeymoon couple who came to the island.  It was a day of heavy rain and I decided to paddle with them over to the waterfall at the other side of Humpy Cove.  We had a great time even in the rain and I have managed to paint two different paintings form that one rainy day paddle! 22" x  28" Oil on canvas.    My inspiration was easy for this piece because this is a scene that I saw most any day throughout the summer.  This large rock with the trees is behind our boat dock out at our cabins in Humpy Cove.  Our guests paddle over to it as soon as they get situated in their kayaks.   It is a great place to get started on an adventure of discovery in the cove.  I am attempting to paint larger paintings this year and this is one of the larger sizes that you will see more of.

6"x12" oil on wood panel, Sold.   These kayakers are paddling along the shoreline in Humpy Cove.  Many kayakers visit a salmon stream and water fall in the south end of the cove.  Kayaking is popular in this area due to the beautiful coastline, abundant wildlife and calm waters.

10" x 15" oil on primed wood panel.    These kayakers are out at our summer cabins in Humpy Cove.  The large island in the distance is Fox Island, the smaller island in front of it is Hat Island.  The kayakers are paddling around a rocky outcropping that disappears under higher tides.  The island where our cabins are is just coming into the picture at the far left.
